Description

We are seeking an Oracle Apps DBA to join our team in the energy and natural resources industry, based in Houston, Texas. This role involves the administration, upgrade, and performance tuning of various Oracle databases and applications. As an Oracle Apps DBA, you will be responsible for managing and supporting multiple development, test, and production environments on Oracle applications, while ensuring the integrity and security of data.

Responsibilities include:

Overseeing the installation, administration, and upgrade of various Oracle Databases and Applications releases.
Managing and maintaining multiple development, test, and production environments on Oracle applications.
Performing tasks such as clones, patching, and code migrations to meet business requirements.
Collaborating with IT application teams to ensure database requirements are met.
Ensuring data integrity and security through access control and regular security reviews.
Providing comprehensive documentation on database systems, configurations, processes, and standards.
Supporting 24/7 applications with a firm comprehension of backup and recovery best practices.
Participating in an on-call rotation and working nights and weekends as required.
Implementing and maintaining Oracle E-Business suite and applying product-specific patches where necessary.
Configuring and supporting Oracle web server, Form server, Concurrent processing server, and Apache web server.

Skills required for this role include proficiency in Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS), RMAN, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Requirements

Proficient in Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS)
Experience with Recovery Manager (RMAN)
Solid understanding of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager
Relevant industry experience in Energy/Natural Resources
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Oracle application related issues
Knowledge of Oracle database architecture and system design
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with team members and clients
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field is preferred
Relevant certifications in Oracle DBA would be an advantage.
