Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.
  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
  • Ability to build, manage, and motivate a high-performing UX team, fostering collaboration, trust, and accountability within the team
  • Experience in developing and nurturing team members' professional growth, providing feedback, and coaching to help them reach their potential
  • Experience in developing and communicating a UX vision and strategy that aligns with business goals, user needs, and market trends
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to drive strategic decisions and to measure the success of UX initiatives
  • Understanding of user-centered design, user research, usability, and interaction design to guide the team in creating high-quality experiences
  • Ability to engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders across departments, including product management, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership


Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Marketing, Behavioral Science, Computer Science or related field
  • Seven or more years of professional job-related experience, including the implementation of sales/marketing/product development strategies
  • Three years of leadership experience in a complex business environment involving multiple business issues and requiring the ability to collaborate within a senior management team

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of UX designers, researchers, and/or strategists, ensuring that work is aligned with organizational goals and UX best practices
  • Set clear expectations and goals for team members, ensuring that their work aligns with both business objectives and user needs
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing regular feedback, and supporting their growth and development
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive UX strategy that supports business goals
  • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other departments to ensure UX is integrated into the product development process
  • Oversee the review of UX work to ensure high-quality outputs, managing risks associated with publishing or launching user experiences
  • Develop and enforce organizational frameworks, standards, and tools to ensure consistency and excellence in user experience design
  • Work with the UX team to explore and design innovative solutions that enhance the user experience and align with business priorities
  • Represent and advocate for user-centered design principles at the executive level, ensuring the value of UX is understood and integrated into broader business strategies
  • Performs other duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $83,000 - $193,000.
