Engineering Team at Intermex Wire Transfers, play a key role in building exceptional user experience on efficient and innovative products, employing advanced technology and SDLC/STLC methodologies. A Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will contribute to our organization by planning, implementing, maintaining, leading and improving all aspects of Quality and Testing to adhere to Engineering and Company's compliance rules and efficiency, reliability, performance and scalability specifications.

Requires hands-on expertise to evolve a QA process, while providing guidance and coaching of best practices and testing procedures to functional testers, automation and performance engineers. The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests and the best way to test.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics (Azure DevOps Work Items, workload, efficiency, etc.) applying industry best practices, researching for and recommending new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services, and coordinating QA resources internally and externally in assigned projects.
  • Lead, mentor and evaluate QA team members, as well as outside contract testers.
  • Work on a constant automation intent approach, to increase the level of automation in all testing activities.
  • In coordination with the IT Team, generate test data as required.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures, using Azure, K6, Postman, JMeter, Appium, Selenium, Katalon or other tools as needed.
  • Lead the team's efforts on performance and automation plan, design, implementation, execution and reporting.
  • Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.
  • Strive to maintain adequate level of test coverage.
  • Estimate testing activities effort including risk and assumptions analysis/assessment.
  • Partner with engineering teams to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability.
  • Work under general direction of Manager of Quality Assurance

  • Actively work on continuous process improvement by proactively identifying deficiencies in current activities and processes and recommending improvements.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in the software quality field including prior hands-on quality engineering expertise in automation and performance testing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans and procedures to support various development methodologies supported by a Test Management platform like qTest.
  • Hands-on expertise with ability to develop and implement automation framework and performance testing strategy.
  • Experience with developing and configuring automated test scripts and maintaining incremental automated test suites.
  • Familiarity with entire software development life cycle and test cycles for functional and non-functional testing (Unit, Regression, Systems, Stress & Scale, Smoke & Sanity) showing expertise in the use of qTest, K6, Postman, JMeter, Appium, Selenium, Katalon or similar testing tools for automation and performance testing.

  • Experience evaluating and selecting performance testing and automation tools for APIs, Web and GUI.

  • Understanding of multi-tier mobile and web applications architecture and deployment.
  • Understanding of existing QA best practices and methodologies to design, implement and automate processes.
  • Experience leading and coordinating with external QA resources and remote/offshore QA Teams.
  • Prior success using a metrics-driven approach and closed-loop feedback to enhance software deliverables and improve predictability and reliability of releases.
  • Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting features tested and bugs found.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsive, and able to prioritize many tasks.
  • Self-motivated, works well independently and with others.
  • Bilingual - Fluent in English and Spanish
