Control Wire Technician / Panel Assembler

Powerserve Technologies Inc. has a current opening for a Control Wire Technician/Panel Assembler for our custom control panel shop. Wire Technicians must be able to read and understand many types of drawings including but not limited to layout and wiring diagrams; elementary/schematics, etc. They must also be able to install electrical circuit wires neatly and efficiently through wire-ways, in bundles (without wire-ways) and properly terminate conductors to each component. UL 508A knowledge is a plus. We are willing to train an interested and capable applicant. This is a full-time position, 40hrs per week for our manufacturing shop located in Jupiter, FL. However, working overtime is occasionally available.

Job description:

Work in electric panel shop. Production of custom relay control cabinets and panels. Includes cutting, installation/assembly of panel components, cable raceway, protection and auxiliary devices, wiring, etc.
Occasionally perform circuit termination in utility substations or other heavy industrial sites. Site specific training will be provided prior to requesting technician to perform such activities.
Other responsibilities as assigned and earned.
The individual will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks.
Perform basic testing activities such as continuity testing and assist with more complex testing activities.


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge in reading and understanding electrical drawings.
  • Willingness to learn and improve knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to learn from constructive correction.
  • Willingness to learn to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude. Wiring aptitude will be demonstrated by testing during the interview process.

Pride in craftsmanship.

  • High school or equivalent education
  • Capability to lift/move material and assemblies up to 70 pounds repeatedly.
  • Capability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Being familiar with UL 508A standards is a plus.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 3 years of industry or similarly related job experience.
  • Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience with UL-508A Control Panel requirements and assembly.
