Job Title: Product Analytical Chemist

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Aegis Worldwide is a 3rd party recruiting firm partnering with manufacturers all over the US. Our client in Fort Lauderdale, FL is hiring for this role.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Product Analytical Chemist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in chemistry or biology, with hands-on experience in the three-step process of fragrance development. This role requires proficiency in the use of Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) instruments. The successful candidate will contribute to the formulation, testing, and optimization of products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive chemical analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using GC and GC-MS instruments.
  • Implement and manage the three-step process of fragrance development, ensuring the accurate formulation and consistent quality of fragrance products.
  • Analyze and interpret data from GC and GC-MS to identify, quantify, and characterize chemical compounds in samples.
  • Develop and validate analytical methods for the identification and quantification of fragrance components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality control, and production, to ensure that products meet all regulatory and quality standards.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment, ensuring that instruments are calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Document and report analytical findings in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques, and regulations related to fragrance chemistry and analytical methods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
  • Proven experience with the three-step process of fragrance development.
  • Hands-on experience with GC and GC-MS instruments, including method development and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of organic chemistry and analytical techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the fragrance, cosmetic, or personal care industries.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fragrance products.
