- js is ideal; Experience with Typescript frameworks (Angular/React) is a must 5+ years experience
- Bootstrap v5 3+ years experience
- CSS/SCSS/SASS 5+ years
What other tools or technologies do you want this contractor to have experience with/how will they be interacting with these tools in this role?
- Github as a source/version controller
- Figma as a repository for UX designs
- Design Token/System experience nice to have
The Hartford's Enterprise Web Apps team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven Software Developer. This is a unique opportunity to join a small team responsible for frontend development at The Hartford. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership skills and have experience in delivering quality technical solutions as well as setting and executing on a strategic technical vision. We are always innovating and exploring new technologies in this space and the right individual would have to be willing to work outside their comfort zone and pioneer new strategies in this fast-paced environment.
In addition, the candidate must have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, willingness to understand existing processes and systems, collaborate with integrating application teams, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate should be able to take decisions quickly in consultation with the team members and subject matter experts and be able to build relationships and understand the dynamics and critical nature of the business.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Working with the UX team and integrated application teams to refine requirements and execute technical solutions both for Foundational CSS and Web Component libraries.
- Oversee, develop and execute Jest, Puppeteer, and Selenium test frameworks, as well as ensure all development is meeting WCAG accessibility standards.
- Execute in an agile framework (Scrum or Kanban). Effectively communicate questions and impediments to the team as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of programming/systems analysis and 2+ years of experience executing in an Agile framework (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe)
- Bachelor s Degree Preferred
- Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript are foundational to this position. Stencil.js is preferred.
- Experience with Front-End Application Development tools, techniques and implementations, including technologies such as Node.js, NPM, Angular/React/Vue, Sass, StencilJS, Bootstrap, etc.
- Familiarity with GIT and GitHub Flow are essential; experience with Figma and Design Tokens is preferred.
- High level of independence and integrity while being a solid team player
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within established timelines
- Strong relationship building skills
- Exceptional Communication skills - written and verbal
