We are seeking a talented User Interface Designer to join our team in Pittsburgh on a hybrid basis, with three days onsite each week. This role is strictly W2, and we cannot consider third-party resumes. Candidates must include a portfolio with their resume.
In this position, you will collaborate with project teams to design and deliver high-quality, client-centered, effective, consistent, and usable interfaces. You will work closely with business analysts, sponsors, project managers, and IT teams to understand business requirements and create user interface specifications. Your designs will incorporate client research, design standards, and industry best practices, while considering strategic business objectives, user needs, and system constraints.
You will participate in design review sessions, gaining consensus and approvals on designs and documentation. Additionally, you will execute business acceptance test cases and testing, ensuring usability deliverables meet project timelines, budgets, technical, and scope constraints. Your contributions will support the continuous improvement of usability methodologies, documentation, workflows, ROI, metrics, and design standards. As a user experience advocate, you will promote the principles of user-centered design.
To be successful in this role, you should have a proven understanding of user-centered design techniques and the ability to incorporate these principles into user interface architecture and design. You must be skilled in gathering and translating requirements from various stakeholders and experienced in applying usability testing techniques and web design standards. Knowledge of web client technologies, such as browsers, HTML, and CSS, is essential. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, along with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain a strong attention to detail is crucial.
Candidates should possess a bachelors degree in human factors/usability or a related discipline, or have equivalent work experience, with 6-8 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Figma, Invision, Sketch, and high-fidelity design is required.
