Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking an Integrated Support Command (ISC) Work Area Commander (WAC) - to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The ISC WAC is responsible for providing Logistical, Maintenance and Medical support to all competitive OPFOR units. ISC is also responsible for reporting Logistical, Maintenance and Medical status to the Operational Strategic Command (OSC) Chief of Logistics. The ISC WAC will assist the World Class Opposing Forces (WCOPFOR) and OPFOR Support Division (OSD) in preparation of Opposing Forces orders, Simulation Control Plans, and other contract deliverables in support of MCTP.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide threat logistics, and transportation, expertise to supervised personnel to ensure doctrinal portrayal of those capabilities.
  • Provide logistics related information for the competitive Command Post (CP) Battle Update Assessment (BUA), usually at the OPFOR Operational Strategic Command (OSC) level.
  • Coordinate with other WACs, as required, to facilitate smooth operation of logistics related unit operations within the simulation (specifically supply, maintenance, medical, and transportation) IAW the competitive commander's plan.
  • Perform simulation-related tasks for logistics and transportation.
  • Provide technical/operational information on problems and variant circumstances in simulation.
  • Post the logistics unit list, status, and initial locations.
  • Understands and practices OPFOR hybrid threat models
  • May deploy to various countries, as required, in support of U.S. military operations.
  • Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
    • Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 20% of the time)
  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Must be proficient with MS office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree
  • Experience with Constructive Simulation Models (WARSIM especially)
  • U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4) equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE) graduate
  • Experience working with the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP)
  • Familiar with U.S. Army doctrine
  • Familiar with Opposing Force Doctrine (FM 7-100 Series)
Salary Range: $69,600 - $104,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
