Sr Systems Engineer

The Senior Systems Engineer is tasked with crafting, implementing, and overseeing the server infrastructure and storage solutions that ensure the high performance of vital business applications. This role encompasses maintaining the availability of client-server applications, setting up new configurations, and devising strategies to manage the server environment efficiently. Additionally, it involves managing various environments, facilitating version control, and integrating new technologies within the existing framework to support organizational objectives.

Primary Duties:

• Develop and execute strategies for deploying client-server systems, ensuring the infrastructure aligns with the company s requirements.
• Take the lead on projects aimed at designing and assessing new server systems, hardware, and applications, including conducting necessary capacity planning.
• Create comprehensive diagrams and technical sketches to outline design specifications for both production and testing environments.
• Champion enhancements in processes within the client-server landscape to boost operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with network specialists, business application teams, and database administrators to ensure server infrastructure is dependable, scalable, and meets business needs.
• Implement and uphold security measures, such as firewalls and protocols, to protect server environments from potential threats.
• Design and maintain reliable backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure continuity of business operations.
• Review help desk tickets related to server problems, prioritizing and addressing issues promptly.
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalated server-related challenges, ensuring swift and effective solutions are provided.
• Oversee file systems, backup methodologies, and the application of patches or upgrades to sustain system performance.
• Monitor system performance metrics and generate regular reports to assess functionality.
• Write and manage shell scripts while overseeing enterprise directory services.
• Plan and implement strategies for integrating various operating systems, ensuring seamless operation.
• Suggest and execute modifications to enhance server efficiency, reliability, and performance.
• Maintain thorough documentation for systems, processes, and infrastructure, along with creating training resources as needed.
• Prepare documentation and equipment for approval through change management processes.
• Mentor junior staff members to support their development and growth.
• Uphold the organization s commitment to ethical conduct and responsible gaming, reporting any concerns confidentially to management.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor s degree in Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of five years working in a technical capacity managing Windows environments.
• Strong project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical solutions in an approachable manner.
• Highly self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A solid background in customer service and experience collaborating in a team-oriented setting.
