KBR's Defense Systems Engineering Division is seeking a Engineering Technician to support our Navy Client in our integration, test and evaluation, installation, maintenance, configuration, and management efforts for the Area Control Systems (ACS) equipment at St. Inigoes, MD. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills. The position requires the candidate to work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers and customers. The selected candidate will be required to travel up to 15 percent of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires daily interaction with KBR ACS Hardware team members and Government customer representatives.Apply engineering principles in a team environment to perform installation, integration, test and evaluation, and repair and maintenance of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and other ACS systems. Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines. Provide routine to moderately complex technical services to the organization.

Technical Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: Read schematics and network diagrams. Follow documented maintenance and troubleshooting processes. Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks. Perform system component configuration for computers, switches, routers, firewalls, and related hardware. Assembling or installing equipment or parts. Performing network cabling. Conducting equipment testing by following established processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Citizenship & Clearance: This position requires ship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Experience: 7 of technical experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Air Traffic Control / Radar equipment.
  • Security+ certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.


This is a SCA Position. Pay rate: $43.61/HR.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Location: St. Inigoes, MD. This position requires candidates to work on-site.
