Job Description: The Commercial Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with digital takeoff software and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Utilize digital takeoff software to quantify materials, labor, and equipment needed.
- Develop project schedules using Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Review and validate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Prepare and present cost reports to management and clients.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contract negotiations.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a commercial estimator in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in digital takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Procore).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
