As a Principal Product Designer, you will play a critical role in discovering, pitching, and leading high-impact projects. Your focus will be on driving transformation by using design as a strategic tool to influence product decisions and ensure ADT delivers cohesive, engaging experiences across mobile and web platforms. You will navigate complex, ambiguous challenges, elevating the team's existing expertise while pushing forward innovative ideas and enhancements. You'll balance business needs, customer goals, and inspired design to create outcomes that resonate with users. This role requires a hands-on approach to design execution, mentorship of other designers, and the ability to lead by example.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and lead company-wide initiatives that deliver high value to both the business and customers, bringing clarity and insight to complex problems.
  • Independently seek out and lead design-led projects while working closely with leadership to align on strategic programs that require your expertise.
  • Ensure high standards of craft and execution across the entire design organization, meeting the expectations of both the business and customers.
  • Partner with the Head of Design to shape the ongoing evolution of the design strategy, influencing the product direction across ADT's offerings.
  • Develop durable, repeatable interaction patterns and systems that elevate the overall quality of ADT's user experiences.
  • Champion a user-first mindset in every project, using data, insights, and expertise to drive informed design choices.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity, fostering strong collaboration across teams and disciplines.

Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience as a senior-level individual contributor in product design.
  • Proven success in delivering impactful products within remote or distributed teams.
  • Expertise in interaction and visual design, with a keen eye for detail and user-centered experiences.
  • A portfolio that highlights exceptional UX craft, visionary thinking, and strong systems design.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving strategic, high-impact design work-from long-term visions to iterative releases.
  • Strong design philosophy, balancing customer needs with business goals.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with a 'show, don't tell' approach to aligning teams around a common vision.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Extensive experience across both native mobile and web platforms.
  • Proficient in Figma and prototyping tools.
