Chief Revenue Officer

Metro Global Ventures, a thriving private equity firm, is seeking an innovative and dynamic Chief Revenue Officer for its legal technology and consulting company. The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will be a key member of our portfolio company's executive team, responsible for driving revenue growth through innovative sales strategies and business development initiatives. The CRO will collaborate closely with the owners and leaders of two sister businesses owned by the entrepreneurs and other senior leaders to align revenue strategies with the company’s overarching goals and objectives. This role demands a forward-thinking leader with a proven track record in sales management, strategic partnerships, and revenue optimization.

Candidates should be located in the Philadelphia area.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive company growth.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and optimize existing revenue streams.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact revenue generation.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and new market segments to enhance the company’s competitive edge and market presence.

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with team managers to lead, mentor, and motivate a sales team of 10-15 business development representatives to exceed performance targets and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with team managers to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales and business development activities.

Industry Presence and Promotion:

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to promote the company's brand and expand industry presence.
  • Network with potential clients, partners, and industry leaders to enhance the company’s visibility and market positioning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in sales and business development roles, with some experience in a senior leadership position.
  • Legal knowledge a plus.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies and performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, business development strategies, and revenue management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data for decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and team-building skills.
  • Motivation and drive to rapidly learn about the business’s industry, its target customers and end-users, its competitive positioning and other factors impacting success.
