The Senior Planning Analyst - EMSI, is responsible for Purchase and Supply Planning across multiple global External Manufacturers (EM's) for DePuy Synthes (DPS) and is directly accountable for the detailed integration of product supply. They will partner with Third-Party Purchasing Contractors to accurately analyze, build and issue Purchase Orders to those multiple global External Manufacturers according to Demand, Inventory and Supply Planning parameter outputs. They will work cross-functionally to implement supplier-facing initiatives that ensure business continuity, supply reliability, quality, compliance, and supplier performance. This role is responsible to complete and lead both tactical and supplier partnership initiatives in the areas of Plan, New Product Introduction, and Technical Operations resolutions. Each analyst will own the resolution of both short-term event management and longer-term capacity issues with the supplier and as well as supporting Internal DPS functions across the Value Streams, packaging, sterilization and Distribution partner teams.

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the seamless integration of EM supply with vendors of moderate to low size and complexity.
  • Ensure EM capability, capacity and supply risk profile, meets the short and long-term business and customer requirements of DePuy Synthes.
  • As representative of DPS, ensure the EM has the vital information to deliver quality products consistently and ensure timely delivery ! This includes the implementation and closure of supplier change orders (SCR) and other required documentation.
  • Track, report and develop EM key performance indicators such as lead-time, on-time delivery, Backorders, S&OP attainment, SCR closure, and risk composite scores.
  • Support the development and implementation of proactive risk mitigation activities with both the EM and their extended supply chain partners.
  • Represent EM to internal partners for STEM (short-term event management) and Supply Chain Launch Readiness processes in order to prioritize, lead and handle the resolution of supply issues.
  • Provides input into the DPS EM/External Operations Supply S&OP process.
  • Coordinate the short, medium, and long-term synchronization of supply and demand for their group of suppliers. This may necessitate implementation of S&OP meetings and Value Stream Platform review sessions.
  • Support/Coordinate the deployment of supplier development/Operations Excellence engagements & resources across the supplier that focus continuous improvement for right first time, lead time, machine down time, Backorders and On-time Delivery.
  • Tactical management of the hand-off of supplier planning outputs / parameters that are used to generate global supply requirements and Regional service commitments.
  • Partner with the External Operations Planning teams across all Planning phases related to EM Supply and Purchasing Planning.
  • Assist in the conversion of DPS net requirements into an attainable supply plan for EM products in the Base Business and New Product Introduction spaces.
  • Collaborates in the following areas: inventory, service, and cost optimization (MOQ's), lead time reduction, optimization of order quantities, capacity analysis, scenario planning, supplier performance measurement, annual business planning cycle

Qualifications

Required Skills
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field of study, Supply Chain, Logistics Sciences or Engineering field is required.
  • 3 years of working experience is required.
  • Confirmed ability to work cross-functionally is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, influencing, and negotiating skills are required.
  • A positive, customer-centric, and collaborative approach to problem solving is required.
  • Ability to develop data, metrics and analytics to generate insights for continuous improvement is required.
  • Ability to work independently and with high energy across a global supply chain environment is required.
  • Able to travel up to 10% of the time to domestic external supplier sites is required.

Preferred Skills
  • Firm understanding of E2E supply chain with an emphasis on Planning and constraint management is preferred.
  • A background in Operational Excellence (Lean / Six-Sigma) is helpful.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; SAP or JDE is preferred.
  • 2 years of direct experience within Supplier Relationship Management, Planning, or Manufacturing Operations, preferably within the medical device industry preferred.

  • The anticipated base salary for this position is $77,00.00 to $109,242.00
