UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW's IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research operations around the world, partnering with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service."

The Workday Security Manager creates strategy for and directs staff to maintain critical security infrastructure and IT services for account and credential management, authentication, sign-on, access control and administration in support of institutional Finance, HR, and Payroll needs for identity, privacy, security, accountability, transparency, efficiency, and cost-effective management of institutional risk.

REQUIREMENT:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Computer Science or related field or experience.
  • Five or more years of experience performing progressively more complex and responsible tasks involving ERP system security design, configuration, monitoring and auditing functions and services
  • Experience supervising, developing, mentoring staff to include performance management responsibilities
  • Ability to understand business and technical design considerations and facilitate problem solving/issue resolution in the context of a customer service framework
  • Demonstrated understanding of how security requirements have implications for data reporting and integration processes
  • Ability to create and assimilate business process documentation
  • Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison
    skills, and personal interaction abilities.
  • Experience supporting system testing and/or data validation activities
  • Expert level knowledge of information security, privacy frameworks, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business process designs, internal control risk management and IT
    controls involving Workday or similar ERP systems
  • Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities.

    DESIRED:
  • Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Business/Public Administration, or related field
  • Experience analyzing complex Finance or HR business processes and understanding associated configuration enabling functionality and implications
  • Experience working in the technical security domain with increasing responsibilities in project management and lead responsibilities, to include experience working with Workday (or similar ERP) application
  • Workday Security Pro-Certification
  • Working experience executing relevant business processes at the University of Washington or in a comparable higher education environment
  • Experience in the use of customer support infrastructure tools, including a case management system, knowledge base, and associated reporting tools
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business process designs, internal control risk management and IT controls involving Workday or similar ERP systems
  • Foundational skills in security principles such as least privilege access, defense in depth, preventative vs detective controls, DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of Software Security, Identity and Access Management and/or Industrial Control Systems
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar professional certification a plus

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
    Hybrid, minimum of 2 or more days in the office per week.
