We are seeking a Hydraulic/Hydrologic Modeler to join our team.
The Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeler will assist project teams in executing projects and supporting project pursuits within the local and regional water, wastewater, and stormwater markets, in addition to participating in local professional groups to help build and grow our practice.



Key Responsibilities
  • This role will perform engineering activities for stormwater and wastewater collection system modeling, evaluations, investigations, planning, feasibility studies, design and construction.
  • Exercises independent judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Takes on technical responsibility in providing quality deliverables to project managers and clients. Takes on financial responsibility when managing tasks and related budgets.
  • Assists others with defining scope of work and objectives through research and fact-finding, combined with a strong understanding of business line and industry requirements.
  • Facilitates coordination for timely completion and submission of project deliverables.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • 5+ years water/wastewater modeling experience.
  • Bachelors in civil or environmental engineering or a related Engineering field of study.
  • EIT or PE License preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail and works well in a team environment.
  • Experience with PCSWMM, Infoworks ICM, and HEC-RAS preferred.
  • Manages tasks, and preferably projects. Can train and delegate workflow with other employees.
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling & engineering experience for evaluations, investigations, planning, feasibility studies and modeling of stormwater and wastewater collection systems.
  • Capable of leading model build and calibration efforts including parameterization, hydrograph disaggregation, ability to diagnose flow conditions, understanding scatterplots, develop model loadings and catchments, meet calibration standards, produce calibration plots, and manages/explains model risks.
  • Firm understanding of infiltration and inflow (I/I), its impact on systems, and study/design to mitigate I/I.
  • Experience with NPDES permitting requirements, Long-Term Control Planning, Consent Orders, Consent Decrees, and Administrative Orders related to sewage collection and treatment. Experience with sanitary sewer system evaluations, Integrated Wet Weather Planning, dual drainage modeling, and master planning drainage studies.
  • Knowledge and experience of flood mitigation planning, including flood inundation mapping, floodplain modeling, and support of CLOMR and LOMR justifications.
  • GIS experience using ESRI products including ArcPro and ArcGIS Online. Able to produce mapping driven H&H results.
  • Drives alternatives analysis based upon strong H&H principles and understanding of client costs and needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; public speaking/presenting, effective communication with team members, clients and other stakeholders.
