Role Summary/Purpose:

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our Connectivity Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, have experience working in a matrixed environment with technical engineering and development teams, and broad knowledge of Connectivity solutions (both physical and cloud). The candidate should have a proven track record of evaluating and delivering new connectivity technology into a production environment. This role will involve working across multiple teams within the Connectivity Engineering group to provide technical leadership for various areas. This position will report to the VP, Connectivity Engineering Leader.

    • Cloud Networking (Aviatrix, Cloud Native Transport)
    • Datacenter Networking (Cisco Nexus / ACI
    • Datacenter Network Virtualization (VMWare NSX)
    • Load Balancing Technologies (VMWare AVI / Cloud Native NLB/ALB)
  • Provide leadership and forward thinking to support both internal and external Connectivity Engineering requirements.
    • Research, pilot, and test new connectivity products and drive modernization and new capabilities
    • Assist product owners on technology road maps for Connectivity Engineering products.
    • Engage with peer Product Managers for business objective alignment and overall product solutioning
    • Provide technical leadership for supported product teams
    • Partner with Engineering and business teams to resolve connectivity issues, solve business needs and drive outcomes.
    • Drive IaaC transformation and automation for supported product teams

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 10+ years of IT/Networking Experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Networking/Connectivity Solutions.
  • Agile Product Manager certification desired
  • Cisco CCNP/CCDP certifications strongly desired

Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong technical background in Enterprise Networking/Connectivity Solutions.
  • Strong background in DC switching and routing technologies (Cisco Nexus, ACI)
  • Strong technical background in Public Cloud Service Providers/Cloud connectivity. (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Strong technical background in Cloud Fabric/Transit architecture (Equinix, Aviatrix).
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Python 3.x, Ansible and Terraform.
  • Understanding of GIT source control management.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize work across multiple teams/stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Able to effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels of Synchrony and its partners.
  • High energy, with strong communication skills and experience working with external stakeholders & technical development teams.
  • Curiosity and passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation.
  • Experience in the credit card or financial services industry.

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
