We are a professional service firm offering civil engineering and land surveying services throughout Texas with a headquarter office in Victoria and four additional offices located in Houston, Fulshear, Corpus Christi, and Round Rock. This is an excellent opportunity for the career-minded individual.

We are seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to assist in providing project management oversight. engineering expertise in the daily operational task of preparing Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports, schematic design, drainage design and traffic control plans with corresponding sequences of construction on various types of roadway facility projects for TxDOT and Municipal work. Other abilities include; ensuring project compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, acting as a lead for other professional and administrative staff.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited program.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas or the ability to obtain a Texas PE within 6 months.
  • 5+ years of work experience on TxDOT projects with Microstation, Geopak Drainage (or Open Roads) or Municipal projects with AutoCAD within the field of roadway design and transportation engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required for use in completing tasks.
  • Strong skills in communications both written and verbal.
  • Ability to exercise judgement in; prioritizing and organizing work assignments, managing multiple assignments, and interacting with clients and other consultants while working independently or within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TxDOT- Precertification or ability to obtain precertification.
  • Experience in both Bentley Microstation and AutoCAD with 3D ability.
  • Experience in (PS&E) for the design of highway and freeway projects, including horizontal and vertical geometry design using Bentley OpenRoad Designer (ORD) modeling, culvert and drainage design, retaining wall design, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details and development of deliverables. Ability in writing and editing criteria files is a plus.
  • Experience in schematic development.
  • Recent experience with and knowledge of TxDOT standards, specifications, policies and procedures.
