In this role, you’ll manage all aspects of event planning, from budgeting and logistics to on-site execution. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at building relationships with vendors, venues, and key stakeholders.

Job Title: Part-Time Event Manager

Location: Downtown Chicago

Job Type: One year contract, part-time (20 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, vendor relations, contract negotiations, catering, equipment setup, and marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external vendors to define event requirements and manage the planning process.
  • Lead pre-event meetings and site visits, ensuring seamless execution on event day.
  • Manage on-site event preparations, production, and breakdown, ensuring an exceptional experience for all attendees.
  • Maintain and build positive relationships with stakeholders, including senior executives, industry leaders, and vendors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event planning or coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining business relationships.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and handle high-pressure situations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient with event management software (Stova, EMS, or Cvent).
  • Flexibility for occasional domestic travel.
  • Knowledge of the Airlines industry is a plus.
