About the job:

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will play a key role within the organization, working alongside the HR Manager to support the company’s activities across all sectors and lines of business. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, strict adherence to privacy protection practices, and stringent record-keeping abilities.

Praeses is a culture-driven organization with a multi-state employee base. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in recruiting efforts, employee engagement, and relaying accurate and timely information relative to benefits, compensation, onboarding/separations, training, and company events.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and training and development.
  • Help maintain accurate, organized, and complete employee files.
  • Manage the onboarding and separation processes and work with all internal stakeholders to ensure a streamlined employee experience throughout.
  • Interface with both internal and external resources on various employee or organizational needs, including, but not limited to, recruiting, compliance, Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) composition, EEO reporting, benefits administration, compensation strategy, and training and development.
  • Conduct regular employee surveys, analyze results, and provide subject matter expertise and recommendations to management based on employee feedback.
  • Update all employment documents as needed, including, but not limited to, the Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, Safety Management Plan, or other operational manuals.
  • Use HR best practices for engaging employees and assisting through highly sensitive or emotionally charged personnel matters.
  • Assist operational teams relative to employee engagement and provide recommendations for action that are compliant with local, state, and federal employment laws and/or regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between management and employees and provide support to both parties to ensure a positive work environment.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with remote employees, business leaders, and within remote working environments.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a core Human Resource discipline. Preference is given to those with multi-discipline experience.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification in addition to a bachelor’s degree in business or HR preferred.
  • Exceptions for applicable work experience will be made. Those who exceed the preferred experience level but who may not meet the preferred certification or education are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with experience administering HR functions remotely and/or across multiple states are preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
  • Skilled in prioritizing and triaging obligations
  • U.S. Citizenship required per federal contract

Environment Factors and Physical Requirements:

Working conditions are non-hazardous, located in an office environment (or remote from home at times or as may be required or allowed), and may sometimes require hours over forty (40) per week. The position requires mental exertion, normal visual and auditory capabilities, and the capacity to work under pressure from time to time.It also requires dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.

Accountability:

The HR Generalist will directly report to the HR Manager but will ultimately be accountable to Praeses’ Chief of Staff. The company may realign supervisory reporting at any time at its sole discretion. Goals and performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Compensation:

This will be a salaried position with the opportunity to earn an end-of-year bonus for exceptional performance. Compensation will be reviewed and may be adjusted at any performance evaluation.
