Established off-site catering company seeks dynamic General Manager leader.

Founded in 2009, Smashing Dishes / Tony Caters is a flourishing and highly respected off-site catering company that produces extraordinary events and exceptional food service across the Bay Area. We also offer cafe services, with two locations currently and a third coming online in early 2025.

As a General Manager, you will leverage your hospitality background to oversee and hold responsibility for all aspects of the operations, driving business growth and aligning all departments for success. In collaboration with the CEO, the GM is involved in strategic planning, financial management, and leadership cultivation to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction as well as a profitable business. Your direct reports include all department managers (except for Culinary), as well as select key line positions. The GM cultivates a team of department leaders who accomplish their stated goals and embody the company’s stated vision, mission and values.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Functional Optimization of Departments

• Keen management of direct reports as defined by Org Chart; provide strong leadership and hold them accountable to their stated KPIs

• Cultivate teams that are streamlined, collaborative and efficient among themselves and cross-departmentally

• Maintenance of accurate and current SOPs across all department functions

Financial Solvency

• Adherence to stated revenue and profitability goals

• Current and clean accounting and HR practices

Adherence to Hospitality Standards

• Produce events of integrity, which include satisfied clients/guests, and products/services of high quality

• Foster a culture that promotes positive team and guest interaction at all times

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field

• Minimum 5 years catering / food service industry experience

• Proven ability to oversee Administrative department, including management of A/R, A/P and HR function employees

• Proven leadership skills and a track record of managing multiple departmental teams and individuals effectively

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail

• Passion for customer service

• Familiarity with industry trends and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
