Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Capacity Operations Engineer to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of enterprise cloud capacity operations, a passion for automation, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Capacity Monitoring and Management: Proactively monitor and maintain site-wide capacity demands, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Operations and Engineering: Contribute to a fast-paced operations and engineering environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Database Expertise: Demonstrate a solid understanding of database concepts, with specific experience in MySQL and Postgres.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage DNS/DHCP, PXE boot kickstart processes, and bare metal/rack deployments, ensuring seamless infrastructure operations.
  • Linux System Administration: Possess strong Linux System Admin skills, with a preference for Centos and RedHat.
  • Automation Development: Develop bash or Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
  • Hardware and Storage Knowledge: Demonstrate a basic understanding of enterprise-class server hardware (e.g., Dell) and storage concepts such as NFS and iSCSI.
  • Collaboration and Automation: Collaborate with partner teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes, driving operational excellence.
  • Results-Oriented: Take ownership of projects and drive results, consistently delivering on commitments.
  • Backup and Restore: Understand backup policies and restore concepts, ensuring data protection and recovery capabilities.
  • Team Fit: Demonstrate strong team collaboration skills and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of ServiceNow asset management.
  • Storage configuration concepts and experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced network troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of Puppet configuration management.
  • Good to have: API development, Ansible, Python, Linux shell scripting, and PowerShell.
