Job Title: ACI Engineer

This is a pipeline role as we anticipate we will need to backfill ACI Engineers that we have placed at Cisco. We need to maximize candidate pay to try and find top quality candidates. Please be aware that I may ask about candidate pay rate vs margin due to how slim are margins are with Cisco.

Job Overview:

As an ACI Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing security measures within our network, with a strong focus on network segmentation and the integration of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense. Your responsibilities will be pivotal in safeguarding our network assets and sensitive data from potential threats and breaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ACI Network Segmentation: Leverage your expertise in ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) to design and implement effective network segmentation strategies, ensuring that critical data is isolated and protected from unauthorized access.
  • Cisco Firepower Threat Defense: Configure, maintain, and manage Cisco Firepower Threat Defense to provide comprehensive threat protection, including intrusion prevention, malware detection, and application control.
  • Security Policy Design: Develop and enforce security policies, rules, and access controls to safeguard network resources, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Incident Response: Act as a subject matter expert in security incidents and breaches, conducting investigations, and coordinating the response efforts to mitigate and remediate security threats.
  • Monitoring and Alerts: Set up security monitoring systems, analyze logs, and generate alerts to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
  • Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in the network infrastructure and address them effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of security configurations, policies, and incident reports for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security measures align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Security Training: Provide training and guidance to internal teams to enhance security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with security technology vendors and stay informed about the latest security products and features.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in ACI network segmentation and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense.
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing security policies and access controls.
  • Knowledge of incident response and security incident handling.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach to work.
