Purpose of Role

The primary purpose of this role is to lead initiatives within the Enterprise Strategy team with a focus on corporate development activities. This will primarily involve collaborating with Lowe's leadership team regarding corporate development initiatives and growth strategies through the identification, assessment, and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures, as well as divestitures by the company. Partnering with the Enterprise Strategy team and business leaders, this leader will drive ideation and consideration of corporate development opportunities in a progressive, systematic, and routine fashion and build relationships with each business unit to keep an ongoing flow of ideas aligned with the business unit's objectives. S/he will manage Lowe's industry engagement and deal/investment relationships with investment banking firms. This leader will lead cross-functional teams in developing corporate development business case analyses and executing and interfacing with Lowe's finance, accounting, legal, tax, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cross-functionally advises the CEO staff, SVP, and VP-level stakeholders to develop and deliver multi-year plans that contribute to Lowe's corporate strategy.

• Assembles, directs, leads, and influences teams of executive, SVP, and VP-level business leaders, strategists, and industry analysts.

• Support Lowe's growth strategy by identifying, assessing, and executing potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and divestitures by the company.

• Establish and lead a robust and comprehensive process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, which includes a rigorous idea generation and screening process that will bring quality acquisition and investment ideas to Lowe's management team.

• Collaborate with the Strategy and Executive leadership teams to think about corporate development opportunities in a progressive, systematic, and routine fashion. Build relationships with each business unit to keep an ongoing flow of ideas aligned with the business unit's objectives.

• Serve as Lowe's primary interface with partner companies and the point of coordination for all co-investment and other activities with these companies.

• Partner with business leaders before, during, and after the M&A processes to ensure the deals make strategic sense, fit forward-looking business plans, and are integrated smoothly and fully optimized.

• Lead cross-functional teams in developing acquisition business case analyses, executing deals, and interfacing with Lowe's finance, accounting, legal, tax, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution.

• Evaluate and execute other strategic initiatives such as joint ventures, divestitures, licensing, and partnership activities.

• Manage key deliverables, including creating analyses, overseeing execution, and identifying the next steps in the process flow.

• Play a vital role in all of Lowe's M&A activities and provide general transaction and analytic support, including the creation of summaries and presentation materials to communicate recommendations to senior management and other internal stakeholders.

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar field

• 5-7+ years’ direct experience in investment banking or corporate development with managing acquisition/divesture/investment transactions, including deal valuation, structuring, and negotiation.

• 5-7+ years’ experience in leading cross-functional enterprise programs or project management teams; experience facilitating teams to strategic decisions; experience in people management

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Master’s degree in Business Management/Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar field

• 5-7+ years’ experience in strategic or management consulting as well as leading high-performing strategy consulting teams within $1B+ enterprises with multiple business units and profit models; experience in people management

• 5-7+ years’ experience working in a Fortune 500 corporate environment, omnichannel retail preferred; experience in people management preferred
