Position Summary

The Accountant I is a vital contributor to our organization, bringing strong self-motivation and adept time management to the role. Operating within the dynamic landscape of growing, multi-site service businesses, this position oversees full-charge accounting, managing general accounting, financial planning, and reporting for client organizations. The Accountant I ensures the accuracy of financial processes by recording and reconciling client accounts, issuing invoices through the AMS system, and maintaining stringent internal controls. Collaboration with Account Executives is pivotal for precise and timely transaction recording, while a nuanced understanding of association clients' businesses allows for insightful analysis and comprehensive financial guidance. The role extends to active collaboration with external auditors and CPA firms, contributing to reviews, audits, and tax return preparations, all while aligning with the broader mission and vision of the company.

The role is entirely remote.

Essential Functions

  • Records and reconciles client accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Creates and issues client member invoices and products using the AMS system.
  • Maintains internal controls and safeguards for revenue receipt, costs, and program budgets, preventing inaccuracies in financial statements.
  • Collaborates with Account Executives to ensure accurate and timely recording of all client transactions.
  • Develops an understanding of the association client's business to provide accurate and in-depth analysis and financial guidance.
  • Works with an external auditor/CPA firm to prepare reviews, audits, and/or tax returns.
  • Undertakes other duties aligning with the mission and vision of the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • 0-1 years of progressive financial experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to swiftly and accurately assess situations/issues to determine objectives and next steps for resolution.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to pursue and achieve aggressive targets.
  • Capability to interpret data and numbers to drive change and elevate the organization's performance.
