Full-Time: 40 hours a week

Location: McLean, VA

In Office Requirement: Hybrid

This intern will support MITRE's work for the International Trade Administration (Department of Commerce) developing a supply chain risk analysis tool.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform data cleaning, visualization and analysis in standard statistical and graphics software languages such as Python
  • Conduct economic literature reviews and qualitative research, investigate economic policies and regulations, and other research as necessary


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an accredited degree seeking program in Economics, Statistics, Math, or a related field with economics coursework and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship
  • Sustained excellence in academic performance
  • Knowledge of economic principles, quantitative techniques, and data analysis
  • Statistical software package or programming language experience such as Stata, R, Python or others


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience having applied Economics, Stastics or Math learning to an internship or research/lab position
  • Experience with international trade data
  • Strong communication skills, initiative, and experience working both independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated interest in serving the public
