Summary

Position will be responsible for material coordination and planning for all inventoried items. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Source and purchase raw materials, equipment, and services required for biopharmaceutical production.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure the best possible deals.
  • Assist Supply Chain Manager to monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without overstock.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to optimize inventory flow.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain documentation and records for audits and quality assurance.
  • Analyze and report on purchasing costs, and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to track budgets and expenditures.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Address any issues with suppliers and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing/PD, QA/QC, and Supply Chain teams to meet project requirements.
  • Participate in project planning and provide input on material availability and lead times.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, new products, and industry developments.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Biochemistry, or a related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
