About the Company:

Our client is one of the largest facilities management companies in NYC that is looking to bring on an Assistant Controller to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the Controller in developing financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review general ledger entries.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and support audit processes, both internal and external, including providing requested documentation.
  • Review and improve financial reporting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in daily activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, including general ledger management, month-end closings, and financial reporting.
  • Strong proficiency with NetSuite ERP system, including setting up workflows, customizations, and report generation.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial compliance regulations.
  • Proven experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Experience in audit preparation and support, including liaising with external and internal auditors.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and other accounting software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
