Overview

The Senior IT Security Analyst provides business analysis and project management support for the DOJ Criminal (CRM) Division Information Technology Management (ITM) Governance (GOV) Office, which serves to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information technology systems and services. The GOV Office facilitates alignment of IT with business goals while managing risks and meeting all industry and government regulations. In addition, GOV Office ensures IT projects and systems comply with applicable security, records, and privacy regulations.

This position supports the Office by facilitating compliance status, developing and routing documentation, drafting implementation statements, and establishing or improving processes. The position requires the candidate to become ingrained in the primary mission of the GOV Office and the delineation of the governance office’s roles and responsibilities to those of its counterparts – e.g., Subject Matter Experts (IT Security, Records, and Privacy) and Product Owners/customers.

The candidate must have experience reviewing systems and technical documentation to ensure compliance. They must define themselves as a problem solver, self-started, and eager to learn. The team functions according to Agile methodologies and the candidate must be comfortable managing projects in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review policies, standards, and procedures and ensure alignment of business processes with information security.
  • Conduct risk assessments on business processes, software requests, and IT projects.
  • Execute Governance process in Jira tool from creation of requests to managing Governance requirements.
  • Perform analysis and follow-up of projects health and progress through review of Jira dashboards.
  • Meet with stakeholders to determine project Governance requirements, provide guidance on completing required Governance forms, tracking project status and action items.
  • Perform quality check and compliance analysis of projects submitted Governance forms and documents.
  • Develop How-To Guides for Governance Office customers, internal process documents.
  • Monitor the Governance Office email mailbox, process correspondence.
  • Create and manage project folders for uploading forms on SharePoint.
  • Track and update project and GOV Office activities in internal portfolio tracker.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Able to work in hybrid posture; onsite (Washington, DC) for two (2) days and remote work for three (3) days.
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of five (5) years of experience serving as an IT Systems Analyst.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain Public Trust security clearance.
  • Experience assessing IT systems and technical documentation to determine adherence to established policies and requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to express ideas, processes, and updates clearly and logically – both verbally and in writing with a wide range of individuals.
  • Experience of a minimum of three (3) years in maturing and streamlining processes.
  • Business analysis skills such as requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement.
  • Project management support experience, specifically Agile project management.
  • Experience conducting project meetings.
  • Ability to provide excellent written and oral communications by email, presentations, and mobile communication platforms.
  • Experience of a minimum of two (2) years with SharePoint, O365 products, and Adobe products.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Work experience in the federal space preferred.
  • Experience managing projects in JIRA and identifying ways to improve implementation.
  • Experience working on an Agile team.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) preferred.
