Job Summary

The position will assist our attorney by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; research, investigations, and fact checking.

Duties And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a part of the Legal Department, and will work under the supervision and guidance of the International Legal Advisor, by supporting the following activities:

  • Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis.
  • Drafting legal documents including reviewing, negotiating, drafting and advising on the terms and conditions of a diverse range of contracts and agreements, and on termination of arrangements with clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Aiding in: (i) keeping the minutes of the proceedings of stockholders, Board of Directors, and committees of the company; (ii) custody corporate records and seal; and (iii) having charge of stock transfer books and issue certificates.
  • Liaising with intragroup international offices and giving advice on onboarding clients of Mexico and Canada, on data privacy (including GDPR), cyber security, and on intragroup servicing agreements.
  • Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
  • Organizing, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
  • Developing, maintaining records, and reviewing hours spent by outside counsel on specific cases.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required.
  • 4 + years of relevant experience interchangeable for higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year Bachelor (BS) degree in Paralegal Studies or Bachelor of Science in Law (BSL).
  • Corporate and/or International legal studies.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish.

Compensation:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience. The annual salary range is $70,000 to $90,000.
