This role will be up to 35% travel.
What You'll Be Doing
- Simultaneously work on multiple projects with multiple clients (public health partners and healthcare organizations) to manage the implementation of a new solution
- Manage technical assistance projects including: scheduling and project planning, stakeholder management, risk identification and mitigation, issue tracking and solutioning, communication, and associated documentation per company standards
- Provide project management activities following company and PMO policies and Project Management Institute (PMI) Body of Knowledge which may include but are not limited to informatics business needs, project process agreements, project plans, work breakdown structures, project schedules, requirements, SOWs and public health information security considerations
- Coordinate with the team, public health laboratory, and healthcare organization to ensure tasks are completed and progress made
- Coordinate project meetings (and agendas) between the internal team and various stakeholders; document meeting minutes/decisions/action items and perform follow-up
- Utilize company processes, communications, tracking systems or other logical solutions to help ensure project success
- Collate feedback from the Technical Assistance Team, public health laboratory, and healthcare organization on the implementation of process opportunities for improvement
- 5+ years of relevant work experience or advanced technical training or experience in health informatics
- Bachelor's degree required
- PMP certification
- Experience working with Federal agencies, public health agencies or laboratories, or member-based organizations
- Experience in project management and knowledge of critical principles and practices
- Experience with system implementation projects, preferably within a public health laboratory or healthcare organization
- Capable of working under tight deadlines and handling multiple projects
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Visio, MS Project
- Excellent client relations, presentation, organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Self-directed, highly organized, and a team-player with commitment to the provision of quality customer service
- Ability to work cooperatively with other organizational entities and engage 3rd parties as necessary
- Ability to communicate with a broad array of individuals from varying technical aptitudes, professional backgrounds and affiliations
- Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to contribute to the broad range goals of delivering overarching technical assistance initiatives while capitalizing on historical efficiencies and reusability when possible
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Degree in informatics, health information technology, or public health health/laboratory field is a plus
- MPH is a plus
- Familiarity with JIRA, Smartsheet, and/or Confluence is a plus
