Job Description
- Use hand tools and equipment to perform cleaning tasks on machinery and work areas.
- Utilize shovels, scrapers, power washing equipment, hoses, etc.
- Clean ash from the product produced and shovel into buckets.
- Clean oil, spills, etc., from areas around machinery.
- Perform overall cleaning of entire machine during shutdowns.
- Repetitively lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, or crawl.
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Climb ladders attached to machinery or stairs.
- Use PPE required for certain areas (double hearing protection, fire-resistant coveralls, eye protection, hard hat in certain walked-through areas).
- Clean grease, oil, ash, and lime.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Working varied hours if required
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings
This is a fully on-site position in Delta, Ohio.
Work Environment
- Work in a steel mill environment that is hot, dirty, loud, dusty, and oily.
- Prepare for a challenging work environment.
- $19.00/hour starting pay rate.
- Standard 40-hour work week.
- Normal start time is 6:30am - 8-hour shifts.
- Overtime may require earlier or later shifts.
- Shifts may start as early as 2am or as late as 8am.
- PPE required: steel toe boots above the ankle, eye protection (glasses and goggles), hard hat in certain areas, double hearing protection in certain areas (otherwise, ear plugs only), fire-resistant coveralls supplied and worn at all times.
