We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fiber splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and compiling test results from various testing devices such as OTDR and OLTS applications. You must be proficient in working with live network maintenance, bulk fiber counts, and new hyperscale fiber construction. You will also be responsible for creating closeout packages that include test results, fiber redlines, engineering packages, and KMZ files.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read, analyze, and compile fiber test results including OTDR traces and Power Meter files.
  • Create and deliver closeout packages including, but not limited to:
    • Test results documentation
    • Fiber redlines
    • Fiber engineering packages
    • KMZ files for geographic representations of the fiber network
  • Proficient in fiber splicing and testing operations following industry best practices and standards.
  • Ability to assist in troubleshooting and maintenance on live fiber networks to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Work with bulk fiber counts and manage the complexity of fiber network infrastructures.
  • Assist in complex fiber installation, splicing, and testing projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of fiber testing procedures, including OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and Power Meter testing.
  • Experience with live network maintenance and the ability to handle troubleshooting in real time.
  • Knowledge of hyperscale fiber construction practices and bulk fiber management.
  • Proficiency in creating comprehensive closeout packages, including technical documentation, redlines, and KMZ files.
  • Familiarity with Anritzu, Exfo, Fluke, and Viavi testing equipment and associated software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in technical documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Project, Outlook, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in fiber optic technology or a related field.
  • Experience working with large-scale or hyperscale fiber infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of current industry standards and safety protocols for fiber installation and maintenance.
