Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Systems Analyst with expertise in cloud technologies and information security. This role is pivotal in assessing and analyzing software systems from a technology and cyber security perspective to ensure compliance with the highest security standards. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and in-depth experience in cloud environments and information security. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a diverse and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze existing software environments including usage, licenses, architecture, data (storage, security, access aspects), cyber security aspects (vulnerability and threat assessments), security patching requirements
  • Analyze security audits data
  • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective software solutions and system designs.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud solutions and architectures that best fit the organizational needs.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify system inefficiencies, gaps and recommend enhancements, new architecture in line with future needs and to improve overall system functionality.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify vulnerabilities, threats and recommend possible solutions in a plan along with risk mitigation strategy
  • Design and implement cloud-based systems, ensuring scalability, availability, and resilience.
  • Review cloud resources and optimize performance while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Recommend security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data protection and system integrity.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Support the design of security controls, including access management, encryption, and security event monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including systems design specifications, process workflows, and security guidelines.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders, providing clear insight and recommendations based on analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or related role, with a focus on cloud technologies and information security.
  • Proven experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), systems architecture, and best practices in software engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security principles and frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
  • Proficiency in using tools and technologies for cloud management, security monitoring, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and execute methodically in a remote setting.

Preferred Skills

  • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, or CISM.
  • Experience in DevSecOps practices, cloud security architecture, and secure software development.
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of network security and data privacy regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
