Key Responsibilities
- Work with ocean carriers and freight forwarders to ensure capacity needs are met.
- Assist in timely execution of international shipments.
- Implement alignments between import and export shipments for the re-use of inbound containers.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, drayage carriers, freight forwarders, ocean carriers, and customer service to identify upcoming inbound deliveries and export bookings.
- Create and maintain standard work and standard operating procedures for international logistics operations.
- Develop relationships with carriers, ports, and terminals to improve service and capacity.
- Special projects related to international shipping
- Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on drayage.
- Monitor equipment availability at major ports and inland terminals.
- Support procurement activities involving carrier and third party selection.
- Develop and report KPIs
- Liaison with internal SBUs on issues related to international logistics.
- Initiate and develop logistics evaluations and reports that provide guidance to the SBUs and outline specific operational requirements in the movement of goods.
- Project work includes developing processes that demonstrate an improvement of current supply chain practices and implementation of these new processes.
- A Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, business, or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
