The Role

ExistX is seeking several Cyber Systems Engineers to join our team near Dayton, Ohio. In this role, you will lead efforts to integrate, secure, and achieve Authority to Operation (ATO) for emerging tactical systems. You will work in a collaborative environment, interfacing with government agencies and contractors to implement cutting-edge cryptographic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration of complex cybersecurity projects, focusing on cryptographic systems
  • Secure and achieve Authority to Operation (ATO) for emerging tactical systems
  • Conduct hardware and software security assessments for embedded and cyber-physical systems
  • Guide projects through DoD certification processes for cryptographic devices, as well as associated tactical systems with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Serve as a technical liaison between government agencies and prime contractors
  • Provide expert guidance on cryptographic systems and certification procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and timely delivery

Necessary Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in cybersecurity and/or systems engineering
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and protocols (e.g., SHA-2, AES-256, RSA)
  • Experience with U.S. Government policies and procedures for achieving ATO
  • Proficiency in certification processes, particularly for cryptographic systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience performing security assessments for embedded and cyber-physical systems

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with CNSA 2.0 cryptographic standards
  • Familiarity with radio frequency RF equipment
  • Experience with Air Force platforms
  • Experience mentoring junior team members

Location

This role will be in Dayton, OH and at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) (Hybrid work arrangement possible)

Security Clearance Requirement

The employee must have an active TS/SCI
