This company operates four business units specializing in the design and manufacture of systems for the asphalt roofing, construction, telecommunications, power, metal coil processing industries, and medical industries. The machinery and manufacturing solutions designed, built and commissioned by this company have been helping customers improve productivity and profits since the early 1900s.

This company is seeking an experienced Assembly/Machine Building Supervisor to lead and oversee the assembly of industrial automated machines. In this role, the supervisor will manage a team of machine builders, ensuring production schedules are met and machines are assembled to the highest quality standards. The supervisor will collaborate closely with the engineering team to interpret detailed drawings and coordinate the assembly of components such as frame assemblies, drive mechanisms, motors, and hydraulic systems. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the efficiency and safety of the assembly processes, providing hands-on guidance, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Ideal Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED (an associate's degree, trade school certification, or relevant certifications are a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience as an industrial automation assembler or machine builder
  • Potentially someone with 10 years of machine building who are interested in management.
  • Any experience with an OEM or engineered to order machine manufacturer.
  • Proven experience supervising a team of machine builders or assembly technicians
  • Strong background in machine building, particularly in industrial automated machines
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Hands-on experience with assembling components such as:
  • Frame assemblies
  • Drive mechanisms
  • Motors and shafts
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and solving assembly issues
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to ensure smooth production processes
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and ensuring machines meet tolerance and finish requirements
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and protocols in a machine assembly environment
  • Proficiency in managing production schedules to meet deadlines
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on improving team efficiency and morale
  • Experience implementing process improvements on the assembly floor
