Position Overview:

This Developer will provide key support in the production and development of Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance and a seamless exchange of healthcare information using Lua scripting and HL7 protocols., availability, recovery, maintain security and utilization, as well as the design, construction, and population of our new technology database schemas. In addition, you ll provide invaluable technical input in the design, architecting, maintaining, and securing of High Availability database systems, including on-prem and cloud environments. This role involves partnering closely with Billing Managers to insure proper charge creation in the billing system. The ETL platform is Iguana which uses the Lua programming language. The main billing system is Athena which uses their proprietary interface engine.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement ETL solutions for healthcare data management.
  • Ensure interoperability of healthcare systems using HL7 standards.
  • Ensure performance, security, scalability and availability of enterprise MS SQL databases
  • Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate and correct data and database issues related to HL7 messaging and Lua scripts.
  • Design and maintain databases that store administrative and medical billing data.
  • Collaborate with billing managers to understand improvements that can be made to charge workflows.
  • Design and implement solutions using Lua programming language to process and transform HL7 messages (e.g., ADT, DFT, ORU, MDM, etc.).
  • Maintain documentation of workflows, integration points, and Lua code for future reference.
  • Research emerging trends and new technologies to identify potential improvements, anticipates issues and develops preventive measures.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Professional experience/Education:

  • Bachelors degree in related field required
  • 7+ years of Healthcare experience
  • Programmer with a strong background in healthcare data integration, particularly with HL7 standards, understanding HL7 messages, interface engines, Databases, EHRs, APIs
  • 10+ years of experience in MSSQL Server (version 2019)
  • Basic exposure to servers
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, inquisitiveness, and the ability to preemptively resolve problems
