Job Overview

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Data-Driven Advertising Sales to lead our sales efforts in the dynamic and rapidly evolving advertising market. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy that leverages data-driven insights and products to drive revenue growth and build strong partnerships with key clients, agencies, and strategic partners.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in advertising sales, with at least 10 years of experience in executing data-driven advertising partnerships. Additionally, this role will lead front-facing strategies and relationships with key partners who help build, manage, and drive advanced advertising sales. This role requires a deep understanding of the media landscape, a strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across product, technology, marketing, research, sales, operations, pricing, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy Development:
  • Lead the development and execution of WBD's data-driven advertising sales strategy,

focusing on key market opportunities and client needs.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at top brands, agencies,

and strategic partners to drive revenue growth.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product, technology, marketing, research,

operations, pricing, and inventory, to develop and deliver innovative advertising solutions

that meet client and partner objectives.

  • Work closely with linear, digital and programmatic sales organization to build out cohesive

cross platform products and process.

  • Partner Management:
  • Lead the front-facing strategy and relationship management with key partners who support

WBD in building, managing, and driving advanced advertising sales.

  • Negotiate and oversee strategic partnerships that enhance WBD's advertising capabilities

and expand market reach.

  • Ensure alignment between WBD and its partners, fostering collaboration and maximizing the

value of these partnerships.

  • Sales Execution and Partnership Management:
  • Directly manage team of in market data driven Account Executives
  • Oversee the end-to-end sales process for data-driven advertising partnerships, from

prospecting to closing deals, ensuring alignment with WBD's strategic goals.

  • Utilize data and analytics to inform sales strategies, optimize performance, and drive

measurable outcomes for clients and partners.

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-profile clients and partners, consistently delivering

exceptional service and value.

  • Cultivate and leverage robust relationship with key buying groups, direct clients, and key

decision makers emphasizing trust and credibility to encourage buyers to explore new

products and embrace innovative solutions. o Exceed budget, goals, and KPI’s.

  • Team Development and Training:
  • Support and train the broader WBD sales team in data-driven advertising techniques and

best practices.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to sales team members, fostering a culture of

continuous learning and professional development.

  • Collaborate with People and Culture as well as sales and operations teams to recruit,

onboard, and retain top sales talent.

  • Market Insights and Innovation:
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive

landscape to inform WBD's advertising strategy.

  • Partner with research and analytics teams to develop insights that enhance WBD's value

proposition and differentiate our offerings in the marketplace.

  • Advocate for the adoption of new tools, technologies, and processes that enhance the

effectiveness and efficiency of the sales organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in advertising sales, with a strong focus on data-driven

and digital advertising solutions.

  • Proven track record of successfully executing data-driven advertising partnerships with top-

tier clients, agencies, and strategic partners.

  • Extensive experience in building, supporting and leading high-performing sales teams, with

a focus on collaboration, innovation, and partner management.

  • Skills:
  • Deep understanding of the media and advertising landscape, including linear, digital,

programmatic, and advanced TV.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and

strategies.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence

and inspire both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced,

dynamic environment.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. An MBA or

equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $192,500.00 - $357,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
