Position

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is the U.S. Government agency in charge of designing, building, launching, and maintaining America s intelligence satellites.

Develop. Acquire. Launch. Operate.

The VV&T team is responsible for providing technical support for the planning and execution of enterprise and system-level verification, validation and transition activities for national assets, associated with ground segments and services and information processing systems within the enterprise. It provides test support of delivered capabilities and mission closure, oversight of milestone test readiness events.

Apogee's ideal VV&T Systems Engineer candidate will provide Verification, Validation and Transition systems engineering and technical support services to enable efficient and effective, mission success. The candidate will guide engineering teams in taking a multi-discipline approach to requirements, solutions, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test & evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across the NRO enterprise and mission partners. What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute enterprise & system-level verification, validation, and transition activities for national assets
  • Test delivered capabilities associated with ground, services, and information processing segments to achieve mission closure
  • Generate metrics, schedule and risk assessments, discrepancy, engineering briefings and lessons learned products
  • Coordinate with Acquisition Offices (AOs) to facilitate risk and action closure
  • Interface with mission partners and operational sites
  • Support Requests for Change (RFCs), detailed testing checklists, requirement verification documentation, and briefings for new and modified mission capabilities
  • Provide oversight of milestone test readiness events and interactions with over 12 segments
  • Strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of the end-to-end mission

Required

  • 10-14 years experience with space/ground systems and systems engineering
  • BS in STEM degree
  • Verification, Validation and Transition (VV&T) experience within overall customer domain
  • Experience writing test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing results
  • Experience in system integration and transition approaches to accommodate the End to End GEOINT and/or SIGINT life-cycle
  • Ability to relate professionally inside the work environment
  • Proven communication skills
  • Highly organized and adaptable
  • Commitment operate professionally and effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority
