Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional with experience working with special needs populations to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing clinical consultations, supervising interns, leading special projects, and contributing to community education.

Position Description

This position focuses on offering services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including participation in clinical consultations and evaluations, assisting service coordinators with forensic issues, and contributing to the development of clinical resources. The role also includes community education and supervising interns.

While 100% remote work is not available, a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of in-office and home-based work may be available for new employees after successfully demonstrating achievement of performance expectations following at least 3 months of in-office work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychometric testing and psychological evaluations to assess eligibility for services.
  • Offer consultations to case managers and clinical staff on psychological aspects of developmental disabilities.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary client evaluations and planning processes.
  • Instruct staff and community members on psychological theory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Review court reports and provide assistance with legal matters such as conservatorship and court-ordered evaluations.
  • Assist with crisis response as necessary.

Work Environment This role requires face-to-face interactions with clients, families, and colleagues. While remote work is not fully available, a hybrid work model may be considered after demonstrating strong performance during an initial in-office period.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology with at least 2 years of experience in testing and diagnostic evaluation of individuals with developmental disabilities or related conditions.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with special needs populations is required.
  • Alternatively, a Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology with 3 years of case management or clinical experience.
  • Preference for candidates licensed through the Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Specialized skills, such as proficiency in additional languages, may be considered for waiver of certain qualifications.

Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical psychology, mental health, and developmental psychology.
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting psychological tests.
  • Knowledge of research design, statistical analysis, and measurement theory.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Experience working with special needs populations, particularly individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Understanding of child development, behavior modification, and learning theory.

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and minimum legal auto insurance required.
  • Ability to provide personal automobile transportation for work-related travel and emergencies.
