The AP Specialist is responsible for managing all accounts payable, accruals, general ledger account analysis, reconciliations, and assist with month-end close.
Entering and Coding AP Invoices.
Facilitating payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
Ensuring outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
Reconciling accounts payable total, monthly statements, transactions, and general ledger
Ensuring employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors for the payables clerk to prepare and submit 1099s.
Processing all AP transactions to include invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
Maintaining monthly audit schedules for various audits performed.
Work closely with project teams to analyze costs.
Reconciling vendor account statements.
Processing corporate credit card transactions, recording disbursement activity, and performing monthly reconciliations.
Maintaining weekly check run and outgoing wire/ACH transfers.
Performing monthly activities in support of the financial close process.
Maintaining accurate source documents, client ledgers, and electronic files.
Education:
Bachelors degree
Experience:
7 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
Must be proficient tin Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
Excellent organizational & communications skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
