IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is seeking a Java Applications Architect. The role will provide development tool support for development processes used in software product lifecycles. The Java Applications Architect will also be responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the support of software development tools across the system and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the development teams.

Tasks:
  • Solve complex technical problems for developers when utilizing the organization s application development tools.
  • Create and maintain documentation for installation and setup of supported application development tools.
  • Work with team members to create standards, policies, and procedures for the organization s use of software development tools and frameworks.
  • Provide consultation and recommend course of action to maintain cost effectiveness and quality of application development tools and systems.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and objectives, particularly as these relate to application development.
  • Research and implement best practices that will control costs, provide higher quality, and/or increase predictability of service delivery.
  • Research new technology and development tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing demands for supporting application development tools

NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Hybrid schedule 2 days/week in office, 3 remote.

Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid 2 days/week in office 3 days/week remote)

Contract: 1 year

Skills Required:
  • 4+ years - Java software development tools experience.
  • 4+ years - Version control system support (e.g. GitHub.com) experience
  • 4+ years - JavaScript software development tools experience
  • 4+ years - Continuous Integration Systems experience
  • Associate s Degree or some college
Skills Desired A plus to have:
  • Experience creating and maintaining documentation for installation and setup of supported application development tools.
  • Experience working with team members to create standards, policies, and procedures for the organization s use of software development tools and frameworks.
  • Experience supporting development tools and/or help desk experience, as well as team lead experience.
  • Experience utilizing ticketing software to handle customer requests.
