We’re searching for a creative and tech-savvy Instructional Designer to join our team in our Colorado Springs office and train users of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), equipping them to drive real change.

At Community Health Partnership (CHP), we’re on a mission to meet the needs of our community and end homelessness in the Pikes Peak region. We collaborate with partner agencies and advocates to tackle challenges head-on, and we need your expertise to empower those working directly with these community efforts.

What You’ll Do:

As the HMIS Instructional Designer, you’ll design fun and interactive training programs, ensure all HMIS users are confident in the system, and keep them up to date with the latest HUD data standards.

  • You’ll be the go-to person for training delivery and system support, from facilitating learning sessions to troubleshooting issues—all while working with our amazing teams
  • Create awesome training programs—whether it's online courses, video tutorials, or hands-on sessions. You’ll build interactive learning experiences, from simulations and quizzes to storyboards and job-aids that are as engaging as they are educational
  • Lead exciting training sessions in various formats—in-person, virtual, e-learning, and more. You’ll make sure everyone from beginners to advanced users receive the best learning experiences
  • Maintain our Learning Management System (LMS) and keep track of training records. Help our partner agencies track progress and stay on top of compliance requirements
  • Work with partner agencies and experts to understand their needs, leveraging this knowledge to craft tailored training solutions and materials. Keep up with the latest in HUD data standards to make sure our training is always top-notch.
  • You’ll troubleshoot issues like a pro and help users navigate the system’s many features, ensuring everyone has the right tools and knowledge to access and manage the system
  • Help us stay aligned with HUD standards and compliance requirements, providing timely updates and assistance with audits as needed
  • Be a friendly face for our partner agencies and work closely with them to deploy training plans that meet their unique needs.
  • Directly contribute to efforts that help our community and support those experiencing homelessness

  • A love for creating interactive engaging content and experience with eLearning tools like Articulate 360 (Rise & Storyline)
  • Strong communication skills—you can present to any audience and make it fun, engaging, and effective
  • Experience in training delivery across different formats, including in-person, virtual, and self-paced e-learning
  • Skill in identifying learning goals and creating relevant content, solutions, and tools for diverse user needs
  • Your technical trouble shooting expertise helps you easily solve issues with a smile
  • Creative energy, strong organizational skills, and a passion for learning and helping others grow
  • A talent for breaking down complex information into easy-to-digest training materials

Your Qualifications & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Education, or similar field, OR equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum and e-learning development, and training and facilitation roles
  • Knowledge of HMIS systems and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs, policies, and data standards preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with Clarity Homeless Management Information System, Looker Business Intelligence software, and Talent Learning Management System preferred
  • Advanced skills and expertise with adult learning principles using e-Learning design software and platforms like Articulate 360, visual/graphic design skills, and audio/video development and editing capabilities – to enhance the learning experience
  • Exceptional knowledge and working experience in the application of adult learning theories and instructional design approaches in ILT and eLearning courses
  • Ability to write effective copy and instructional text with proven grammar and editing capabilities.

  • Salary range for this full-time position is $60,000-$65,000 / annually depending on experience.
