What You ll Do:
Lead Mechanical Design: Take charge as the mechanical subject matter expert, overseeing design activities for power generation projects ranging from 25-200MW. You'll work on both combined cycle and simple cycle power combustion turbines, ensuring that every project meets high standards of quality and performance.
Mentorship and Supervision: Guide and manage a team of mechanical engineers. Provide hands-on technical guidance, training, and support to junior engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring that they are equipped to deliver top-notch work.
Technical Excellence: Perform complex calculations, modeling, and engineering tasks, as well as conduct in-depth code research. You ll be responsible for peer review, technical oversight, and quality control of the design team's work, ensuring that all deliverables meet the required standards.
Collaborate on Proposals: Partner with the VP of your group to respond to client-issued RFPs. You'll play a critical role in developing and writing bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and budgets, using agreed-upon methods and standards.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including electrical, controls, structural, civil, and air permitting teams, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into the overall project.
Construction Phase Involvement: Be actively involved in the construction phase of projects. Conduct site visits, coordinate factory tests, and manage shop drawing reviews. Your knowledge of piping design and potential experience with pipe stress analysis will be crucial during this phase.
Equipment Integration: Specify and integrate industrial frame combustion turbines, natural gas and diesel internal combustion engines, heat recovery equipment, packaged boilers, and other mechanical systems into the engineered designs.
Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs meet local, state, and national code requirements. Your expertise will be vital in navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring compliance.

Key Requirements:
- Education: BS in Engineering required.
- Experience: 15+ years in power generation, specifically IPP and utility-scale combustion turbine plants.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in BIM programs, Autocad, and Revit (a plus).
- Expertise: Hands-on experience with GE, Siemens, and/or Solar combustion turbines. Knowledge of local, state, and national codes is a must.
