Job Description:

Job Title: Cyber Vulnerability Program Manager

Location: US Remote

Duration: 9+ months but 20 hours / week

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Project Management:

Lead and manage end-to-end vulnerability management projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within scope.

Coordinate with IT, DevOps, and security teams to assess vulnerabilities and ensure timely remediation across the organization.

Track project progress, provide status updates, and generate reports for executive leadership.

Vulnerability Management:

Manage the deployment and optimization of various vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable, Wiz, and others.

Ensure regular vulnerability assessments and scans are conducted, and critical risks are addressed with the appropriate urgency.

Oversee the analysis of scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, and ensure teams address identified issues efficiently.

Process Engineering:

Develop, document, and optimize processes related to vulnerability management, focusing on automation and efficiency.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline security workflows, enabling faster identification and remediation of vulnerabilities.

Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to reduce time-to-remediation and minimize security risks.

Collaboration & Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact between the cybersecurity team and other departments, ensuring clear communication regarding project goals, timelines, and risks.

Coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to prioritize vulnerabilities, track progress, and resolve roadblocks.

Present reports and risk assessments to senior management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Compliance & Governance:

Ensure all vulnerability management processes comply with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR, HIPAA).

Maintain comprehensive documentation of vulnerability management efforts for audit and compliance purposes.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

5+ years of experience managing cybersecurity or vulnerability management projects.

Demonstrated experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable, Wiz, Qualys, or similar platforms.

Strong background in process engineering and the ability to optimize and automate security workflows.

Skills:

Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Strong understanding of vulnerability management, risk prioritization, and remediation workflows.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.

Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP, CISM, CISSP, or other relevant certifications.

Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) and familiarity with cloud security tools.

Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
