Job Title: Tableau Python Data Analyst (Tableau, SQL, Python)
Location: Day 1 Onsite Elk Grove, CA / Austin, TX (Hybrid 3 days onsite / week)
Long term contract
Excellent communication is essential. This Statistician will:
1. Require a working knowledge of formal statistical analysis and causal modeling.
2. Use SQL to manipulate and model data.
3. Use Python or R to perform statistical and causal modeling; create visualizations;
4. Use Tableau to create interactive visualizations
5. Require excellent communication skills.
The client's goal is to add people to the team who have experience with formal data analysis, which generally entails probabilistic and statistical modeling, experimental design and analysis, causal modeling, and explanatory machine learning.
The client would expect anyone who can do those things to be proficient with standard tools, like Python, SQL, and Tableau. One of the main challenges clients have faced is that most of the contractors they have interviewed equate building visualizations and dashboards to analysis when that s actually just the starting point.
Data exploration is essential, but insufficient to derive robust insights. The client is looking for someone who has this same perspective and knows how to use the appropriate techniques to derive robust insights.
Additional Comments:
  • We need a strong Statistical Analysis candidate with hands-on Tableau experience.
  • We are actively looking for a data scientist. Any data scientist should have experience with ML and building visualizations. (If they don t have ML experience, they are a data analyst; not a data scientist.) The technology they use might vary, so I am looking for ones with experience in Python, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Please make sure that candidates have been using Tableau, SQL, and Python every week for the past 5+ years
  • Excellent communication is essential
