Technicial Lead IAM Engineer/Project Manager (Okta)

This role requires a solid technical background, particularly in the identity management area of cybersecurity. Candidates should be well-versed in the necessary technical competencies to support our security initiatives.

This position is unique in that it also encompasses hybrid tasks beyond technical responsibilities. The candidate will be expected to:

• Lead projects and initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders.
• Engage in work planning and communication tasks that are essential for project success.
• Soft Skills-excellent communication skills,the ability to work well with business stakeholders, the acumen to navigate project-related responsibilities without being a traditional project manager.
• The technical requirements will remain similar to previous roles, focusing on a solid understanding of our technology stack.
• A strong starting point for candidates is their familiarity with work tracking technologies, especially Jira, as we operate as an agile organization
• Understanding agile principles and practices is essential, as it aligns with how our teams operate and collaborate effectively.
• While we have dedicated staff ready to train new hires on our specific processes and tool usage, we prefer candidates who come in with a basic understanding what we refer to as a running start. This will enable them to contribute more quickly and reduce the learning curve.
• The day-to-day responsibilities of the role are expected to be approximately 60% technical and 40% non-technical that's going to end the flow with volume so the projects that are going to have this candidate support some of them are starting and some of them haven't started. This breakdown indicates a strong emphasis on hands-on engineering tasks.
• Traditional project managers may not be the ideal fit are open to candidates who have a technical engineering background and have moved into project management roles. However, if a candidate has been in project management for over 10 years, they might have lost touch with their technical skills, which is a concern. Also recognize that roles like Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, and Product Owner are relevant in agile environments, and candidates with these titles may be considered, provided they have a suitable technical background.
• Candidates should ideally have experience working in a security team as project managers and be comfortable with Agile methodologies.
• Pure project manager is not going to be a fit for this role this is going to need to be someone of technical background and acumen they're going to need to actually have technical job experience.
• Need to be someone who has a technical background with some form of technical job and experience relative to identity and cyber security
• Project- migration work

Technical Skills Focus: The emphasis will be on security skills, particularly in identity management. Key technologies to look for include: Authentication and Authorization, Familiarity with products such as Octa, PingFederate, and Active Directory is expected. Identity Management & Governance: Candidates should demonstrate experience in these areas, along with familiarity with ServiceNow as a qualification.
