Overview:
We are seeking an experienced FinOps Cloud Leader to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of experience in cloud financial management, with a strong focus on auditing cloud operations, identifying areas for improvement, and leading efforts to optimize cloud financial processes. This position requires expertise in cloud cost management across multiple platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. You will collaborate with finance, IT, and engineering teams to ensure cost efficiency and enhance the effectiveness of cloud resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit & Financial Reporting: Conduct comprehensive audits of cloud operations, providing detailed financial insights and transparent reports related to cloud usage.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze cloud expenditure and usage patterns, identifying key areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Process Design & Improvement: Design, implement, and refine processes for cloud financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the FinOps strategy across cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with finance, engineering, and product teams to implement cloud budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Policy Development: Establish and enforce policies for cloud resource provisioning and cost management.
  • Training & Advocacy: Educate teams on FinOps best practices through training sessions and workshops.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to drive a culture of financial accountability in cloud usage.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a FinOps or cloud financial management role.
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their financial impact.
  • Strong experience in auditing, financial reporting, and cost optimization within cloud operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in process design and improvement for cloud financial operations.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting for cloud expenditures.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified FinOps Practitioner, are a plus.
