Office Location: 1801 W. Warner, Suite 202, Chicago IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday with required in-office minimum of 3 days per week (hybrid work policy subject to change).

Office location moving to 224 W. Hill St, Chicago, IL in Fall 2024

Who We Are Looking For

The Talent Development Manager supports NAMI Chicago’s mission by identifying, designing and implementing development initiatives in conjunction with the Director of People Experience to enhance learning practices across our internal teams that support employee performance, employee growth and employee engagement. Primary focus will be on leadership development, managing the programming and process for specific lifecycle moments such as onboarding, offboarding and key milestones, as well as managing survey administration, data analysis and reporting on the various programs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and facilitate training programs and workshops aimed at enhancing the internal teams people experience, skill knowledge, engagement and performance
  • Identify clear learning objectives and process for a cross functional onboarding program
  • Develop and conduct assessments to evaluate skills, competencies and potential for advancement
  • Work collaboratively across various teams to develop solutions to address skill gaps and create individual development plans based on career goals, strengths and areas for improvement
  • Develop agency-wide programs and training that build leadership capabilities and skills
  • Develop and execute an integrated performance management process to manage and drive high performance
  • Provide organization development consultation that facilitates the successful development of teams
  • Assist in the development of employee training and program design support for NAMI Chicago’s DEI initiatives
  • Conduct surveys and evaluations to measure the effectiveness and impact of the various development programs
  • Administer and maintain the learning management system ensuring optimal performance, system integrations, user accounts, course enrollments and reporting
  • Collaborate with the People Experience Generalist and provide back up support (as needed)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Stay abreast of current research and trends in the learning and leadership development space and drive a learning culture
  • Possess excellent cross functional collaboration and communication skills and have the ability to work effectively across all levels including executive leadership
  • Utilize various delivery methods including digital learning, workshops, etc.
  • Manage multiple priorities and ad-hoc projects simultaneously along with day-to-day responsibilities – oriented on results and details
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions
  • Strong problem solving skills, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams in a time sensitive environment to implement new practices and programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Passion for innovative learning tools, solutions and process improvement

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in talent development, performance management, learning and development and/or employee engagement
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and principles
  • Well versed in digital learning, just-in-time and blended learning strategies
  • Skilled in instructional design and implementing development programs for all audiences
  • Excellent facilitation skills with experience in small and large group facilitation using multiple modalities
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Proficiency in using HRIS and talent management systems
  • Experience with storyboarding and course creation tools
  • Great communication skills and ability to build relationships with leaders and cross functional teams
  • High level commitment to quality work, organizational ethics and integrity
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by NAMI Chicago
